Break the Mold: Collaboration Celebrating Bravery in Design
"Safe is good for sidewalks and swimming pools but life requires risk if we are to get anywhere." - Simon Sinek
's Changing the Conversation
series continues as they play host to this year’s Los Angeles Design Festival
Break The Mold
is a collaboration between artist Tanya Nolan
, CERNO Design Director Nick Sheridan
, ad exec turned furniture designer Amy Cherie
, and Woven Accents Creative Director Ginna Christensen
. The intention behind the installation is to celebrate bravery and the act of true collaboration among different modalities of design.
Three unconventional room vignettes have been created with the aim of changing the viewer’s perception of design. With furniture pieces by Amy Cherie Inc
, an adaptation of Tanya Nolan’s You’ve Made It
(formerly seen at Art Basel 2013), lighting fixtures by CERNO
, and rugs by Woven Accents
, party goers are encouraged to engage with the installation and either play it safe or break the mold.
View the installation, on display June 27th to August 29th.
