112 W. 9th Street #1119
Los Angeles, CA 90015

Fashion designer and Racked’s Top 50 Young Guns Designers of 2013 honoree Jill Aiko Yee will open her brand-new DTLA studio and showroom to the public for a one-of-a-kind tour on June 25 from 11am to 4pm.

Take an exclusive peek into the creative process behind the movers and shakers that define LA's vibrant design scene. Shop a curated collection of pieces by each designer while mingling with the women that are revamping LA's contemporary fashion landscape. If you’re feeling crafty, take part in a workshop where you'll take home a DIY project. (participants will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis). This unique celebration of entrepreneurial women is part exhibition, part private sale, and part hands-on DIY experience. Complimentary food, coffee by Shreebs, and drinks by Sino Tequila will be served.

Jill Aiko Yee’s designs are famous for embracing color, joy, and femininity. Sumptuous fabrics in vibrant dye techniques float and drape beautifully, celebrating shape and movement. The result is a collection that is at once refreshingly current and remarkably effortless. Her studio is a light-filled space with beautiful views of Downtown LA.  All pieces are designed and sewn on the premises.

Leading the craft workshop is Anna Lian Tes, an album and poster artist known for designing the 2015 SXSW poster as well as album covers for artists like Dillon Francis, The Roots, and The New York Dolls. She co-owns and operates Announcement LA, a co-working and event space for local creatives.

All of the participating designers are women who own small businesses that design and produce in LA. Featured designers include:

  • Botanica WorkshopAn organic and sustainable underwear and loungewear line featuring clean, fresh, sophisticated staples.

  • Echo and AirA fashion-forward women’s line deconstructs traditional silhouettes through drape, print, and texture. Each piece embodies principles of ethical and local production.
